22 Tiny Reminders to Mindful Living
1. Let go of people and situations
My mom is working in medical industry. She is extremely busy, and there’s always something on her mind. She likes to travel. And she has this tool I found useful. Whenever she obsessively worries about something she asks herself: “Marianna, is this a problem that is worth taking with you to Madrid?” Worrying is useless. Clinging to people and situations is useless as well… Learn to let go.

2. Ask yourself these questions every week:
What is my greatest achievement this week?
What was the most memorable moment during this week and why?
Have I lost time doing something meaningless?
3. You are too blessed to be stressed
Count your blessings every day and express your gratitude towards life for everything you have. It is such a positive habit. The more great things you notice in your life, the happier you are while understanding how wonderful and unique your life really is.
At least once a year try going somewhere, you’ve never been before. When I travel, I’m speechless – that’s how my mind is blown away by meeting different people from all walks of life; by expanding horizons and learning more about new countries and cities. And when I come back home, I most certainly have a lot to share with my friends.
5. It’s ok to make mistakes
It’s ok to make mistakes. It’s ok to learn from them and move on. Don’t beat yourself up too hard because you didn’t know better back then. Mistakes we make are a powerful tool to gain that unique life experience. Accept yourself with all the baggage of that experience.

7. Developing Uniqueness
I strongly believe that every person is filled with hidden talents. Think for a moment. What is it that you are good at? What is it that you would love to develop? Learn what your talents are. Develop new ones. Be yourself.
8. Make up your mind independently
Try to make your own decisions and have your own opinions regardless of what everyone else thinks. This life is yours to live, and nobody will ever do it for you.
9. Stick with the right people
Don’t stick with those people who couldn’t care less about your existence. Why waste your time on that? It’s pointless trying to impress somebody so they would have mercy to be present in your life… Just look around. See people who love you, people who are happy that you are in their lives, people who want to spend time with you. Time is the most valuable thing to give. Spend your time wisely.
10. De-clutter your mind
Meditate every day. 5 minutes or 20 minutes – it doesn’t matter as long as you do it. I promise you will soon see the difference. Meditation is the most powerful tool to de-clutter your mind. Give it a rest and fill your mind with new positive energy.
11. Smile more
Life is so much better when we smile more often. I read somewhere that even if your mood is not all sunshine and rainbows, 1 minute in front of the mirror with a broad smile can lift up your mood. At first, this idea felt weird, and I found it silly. But then I tried it once. I was standing in front of the mirror smiling. I recalled a funny story, and then I started laughing which lifted my mood for the day.

12. Watch your words
Watch your words and see how truthful, beneficial and kind they are… Say NO to gossips and whining more often. It’s better to stay quiet when you really have nothing valuable to say.
13. Think hard before acting
Before taking any action, evaluate its expense and think hard before going through with it.
14. Let your steam off before you react
If you got angry with someone, wait. Don’t let your steam off straight away. Release your emotions elsewhere. So many friendships and relationships are broken because of the reaction to temporary emotions with words that stick in memory forever.
15. Believe and follow your dreams
Never stop dreaming and believing. Let your dreams guide you through life.
16. Stay truthful
Stay truthful to yourself, your beliefs and everything that is important to you in your life.
17. Take care
Take care of yourself. Being and staying healthy is priceless.

18. Tranquil space
Create this space in your mind. The place of stillness and tranquility.
Whenever I’m worried and stressed I mindfully choose to “go to that place” in my mind and relax. There I stay calm and composed. The true power of any person derives from there. Remember the tornado cyclone? Its powers derive from a calm center point.
19. The past is in the past
Accept the fact that there is nothing you can do about your past. It stays there. And you are moving on. It’s up to you what to think and what to feel in the moment of NOW.
20. Conquer your fears.
Identify your fears. Learn what they mean, what they say and teach you. Try to release yourself from them one by one. It might take time, but it’s worth it. Fear is an illusion.
21. Never give up!
Persistence and diligence are your friends. Never give up! Follow your dreams.
