“See the positive side, the potential, and make an effort.” – Dalai Lama

Having a positive outlook on life is perhaps the most important habit aiming towards the belief of how everything can always change for the best. In the face of adversity and difficulties, it can be hard to remain calm and optimistic, which is why just like everything that requires effort in life, it ends up paying off.

Life can be challenging for some more than for others, but it’s always important to remember that no matter how hard things get, the night is always darkest before the dawn, and we should always rise up from the ashes like a phoenix.

The know-how of a positive mind will always lie within ourselves, and through the practice of different activities we can all achieve a new state of mind that just like Bruce Lee once wisely said, will make us “be like water

8 Amazing Habits To Improve Positivity In Your Life

Dream on and visualize

If you’re anything like me, you probably know how easy it is to find all the “buts” of a situation that hasn’t happened yet. Though this can be good to some extent and will help us to foresee the possible outcome of many circumstances. It can also play on our disadvantage by limiting our heads to curl up in a ball of fear behind all the things that “might” go wrong but we don’t know for sure.

Instead, we should also picture in our heads exactly what we want to happen, we must have high expectations and believe that we deserve no less than the best. Through positive reinforcement, our brains will fixate our goal in our mind and once it becomes clear and steady, finding the way to achieve it will become a matter of time and focused efforts.

Prioritize everything

There’s a very nice mental exercise we can do to organize our priorities. Picture a jar where you can put big rocks, pebbles, and sand. The big rocks are the things that matter most in your life, the pebbles are the ones that follow and ultimately the sand is all those things that all the worries we can have about “buts” and “ifs”.

If we fill the jar with sand there will be no space for anything else. Whereas if we put our rocks first, though there will be free space for pebbles, the sand won’t have much room to occupy in our life. Sometimes we do the opposite and forget about our rocks. And it stops us from achieving what we’re meant to achieve. Always put your rocks first!

Become an early bird

We all know how those extra 10 minutes in bed feel. And we all have felt like staying under the covers the whole day for whatever reason. However, getting up early will not only give you all the time you need to work towards your dreams, it will also ensure you wake up with 100% energy and not overloaded with sleep.

You will feel more active and energized than if you slept the whole morning. Your mood will automatically change for good!

Get in a healthy morning routine

Get up! Have a delicious healthy breakfast, work out for a while and there you will have the first three strongest foundations of your day. By getting up earlier, you will have some extra time to do things that make you happy and will help you start the day in a better mood.

You will have your own routine of positiveness that will end up reflecting on how your day turns out.

Drink lots of water

When you wake up you should have a glass of water. This will not only clean up your body much faster, but it will also speed up your metabolism, making you feel energized sooner and everything will just fall into place for you to just go out and get it!

Don’t multitask if you can’t

If you’re like the majority of us, you might know that only about 2% of the world population can successfully multitask. The rest of us thought we might be doing our best, are only taking a full concentration of each task, making it less efficient and effective.

Put your mind to every task individually and you will get better results and will be able to move onto the next one rather soon.

Tidy up!

Having a clean environment is like having a clean body and a clean mind. It will reflect within. Aside from getting rid of all distractions that can hold us back from achieving great things, subconsciously it will bring us down to a lower mood. Clean up your house, get rid of everything you don’t need and your productivity will rise up to the skies on its own.

Stop procrastinating

Though it can be enjoyable most of the time, it only holds us back. Try to stop wasting so much time on things that aren’t helping you to either achieve your goals or at least things that don’t make you happy at all.

Spend less time in front of the TV or the computer. It’s always good to know what’s going on with the world and our friends through social media, but we shouldn’t spend too much time working on a digital life rather than our own.

A positive mind will attract positive things in your life. Not because of some mysterious magical or divine engineering in the universe, but because you will be prompt to be exposed to better situations by making decisions based on your approach towards life.

Invest in yourself. Meditate. Read. Eat healthy food. Drink water. Move your body. Spend time in nature. Rest up. You are worthy.

In other words, if we think positive we will act positively. As a result, the consequences of our actions and choices will also be positive. It’s not a flawless formula but we also need dark bits in our life, otherwise, we wouldn’t know what the light is.
