One Book That Will Change Your Life For The Better

life changing books

Each day of our lives we make deposits
in the memory banks of our children. – Charles R. Swindoll

A couple of weeks ago I’ve received a gift from a friend. A gift that really made a difference. A gift that showed that immense support and understanding we all yearn for once in a while. It was a book by amazing Nadyne T. Hicks “Through Eyes That See”. In that book, I found a new friend named Darcy with whom each of us could find so much in common… it’s astonishing!

I never was a big supporter of the joke that goes something like this: there are 3 types of presents, a good present, a bad present and… a book. You see, for me, a good book is a priceless and precious thing to have.

Some of you know that I am a great fan of books. I read a lot. Unfortunately, not everything that I read turns out to be something worthwhile. And trust me, a dazzling label “best seller” never guarantees that the book will be good. So many of them are repetitive with recycled thoughts these days and I’ve been struggling to come across something good and of great value to read.

Therefore, when “Through Eyes That See” landed in my hands and I got pulled into it, I didn’t want for it to end.

Here is a video review of the book by the amazing actress Judy Reyes (from “Scrubs”; “Devious Mades“)

I was thumbing through pages and I found myself nodding and thinking: “Oh, dear… this is me you are talking about! Have you been following me around as a guardian angel?”

Have you ever had those little things that you thought would stay forever unshared and untold?

What a relief this book gave me… it liberated all of the things many of us have no wish of sharing. “Through Eyes That See” is simple, sincere and profoundly written. I found 98% in common with the main character named Darcy. And the only “shortfall” is that the book is so great, you will wish for it to have 1000 pages more… It is something you start reading and have no desire to ever put aside till the very end.

how to learn anything

Somehow the mastery of Nadyne T. Hicks intertwines you with Darcy so that you can feel what she feels and you can hear her voice and the way it echoes in your soul… You can see her struggles and heal by remembering your struggles when you were a precious child. It is virtually impossible to read “Through Eyes That See” and not to become deeply sympathetic towards Darcy and… any kids that were put through burning emotional turmoil in their childhood.

“Through Eyes That See” is the book for anyone who used to be a kid or will someday become a parent. This book brings true value. If I was asked to describe this book in just three words I would have said: healing, understanding, compassion. Don’t we all need it sometimes?!

Nadyne, if you are reading this now… From the bottom of my heart, thank you! “Through Eyes That See” is the book everyone should read at least once in a lifetime. It is a priceless gift of the profound lesson and deeper understanding of human needs and us as souls that are longing to be loved and understood. I have no words to describe further how grateful I am that you took the time to share this priceless gift with us. Thank you! A million times, thank you! And Nadyne, of all the writers I am lucky to know, you are one of those who should never stop writing!

With much light and love,
Lesya
