Currently we are all living during the time of uncertainties, whether it is financial security, uncertainty regarding our future, or just uncertainty about our personal presence. Some of us, to be precise about 8% of the population in The UK, can be hit by all these uncertainties at the same time. Yes, I am talking about unemployment . Everyone who has ever been unemployed would agree that this was not “the best” experience in their lives, where everyday seems the same, and your self-esteem and self confidence are going down the drain. But how do you change the situation and at the same time improve your chances to get back to your happy and satisfied life?
You would not believe it, but there are people out there who are ready and happy and ABLE to help you and this help is absolutely FREE, but for you it would be priceless.
The Spring Project is run by a team of professionals who have volunteered to make this planet a better world for everyone and they decided to start on professional help to recent graduates and those who are straggling to secure an interview and find a job.
This is a whole day of active training where you will learn and be trained on how to develop the right skills which wold improve your chances of employability. You will get proper advice from the people in the industry on what exactly they are looking for in their future employees, what they want to find in their CVs, how to behave at the interview (over the phone or face to face) and so on. There will also be a lot of group exercises which will help you to develop skills such as leadership, creativity, thinking outside of the box, problem solving, presenting, listening and hearing, work as a team, etc.
And it doesn’t really matter what problem you came there with, trust me, you will leave this place a totally different person. One thing is for sure, you will get all the tools and knowledge on how to change your life for good, and thereafter it will only be up to you to use them.
I came there with a strong feeling that I knew it all: how to compose a great CV, how to go through the job interview. And the fact that for the last 4 months I didn’t land anything worth mentioning was telling me otherwise . It was my mistake thinking that something was wrong with the world and it never occurred to me that I might have done few miscalculations myself. And when the troubles in my CV and the whole strategy of finding the job were pointed out – I was surprised how I could not see such “simple” things myself. It’s very important that I have gone and received evaluation from a different source, which was more competent that my own.
If you want to change your situation you just have to think differently. Do take every single opportunity that is given to you as you never know what is going to happen. Remember, we are given the same chances in life, however, someone is trying them all and someone is sitting and waiting for a miracle to happen.

It is specific to The UK, however, I am sure that you can find similar projects, teams or even just helpful people wherever you live. Don’t think even for a moment that uncertainty and unemployment is beyond your ability to change them. You are as active and happy as you let yourself to be. Go out there, find help, find ways to improve your skills and employability, explore your passions and hobbies! Perhaps the loss of your job was just the chance you needed to start doing what you love!
As David Everett said in 1797: “Large streams from little fountains flow, Tall oaks from little acorns grow.” You are this little acorn, and you have this huge potential, just take chances and believe in yourself, and I’m sure success will follow.
