We all heard that cultivating and boosting self-esteem can be surprisingly difficult, but…
Low self-esteem is like driving through life with your handbrake on. – Maxwell Maltz
There are tons of articles out there wanting to help you change your life for the better, but the truth is that after reading them –– the responsibility of changing your life is totally yours. It’s up to you to finally accept, forgive, respect and start treating yourself with a bit more love that you truly deserve. Start boosting your self-esteem today with these six simple steps.
1. Stand Tall & Strong
Imagine you are wearing a superhero’s cape! See how it feels to stand tall, sit up straight, with your shoulders back. Walk across the room as you own it like no one can mess with you. Walking like this will make you look taller than when you’re slumping over. And not only will you look more confident, but you will instantly feel it, too.
2. Eat Well and Stay Hydrated
You might have noticed: when you eat good food, you feel good; and while junk food can make you feel happy in an instant, munching on too many burgers and pizzas will leave you feeling sluggish and bloated and uncomfortable in your own body. Take care of your body, nourish it with good food and water. And remember, it’s better to invest in wellness rather than later into countless hospital bills.
3. Exercise Regularly – Or Go for a Walk
Being healthy and feeling good comes from the inside, so apart from good nutrition, moving is a crucial step in the process. Find an activity you enjoy – don’t roll your eyes if you’re a couch potato, because there’s so many, there’s bound to be something you’ll like – and stick to it.
Even going out for a walk will boost your endorphins and leave you feeling energized! When your body is moving and showing you what it’s capable of doing, you will feel so alive and amazing!
4. Change What You Can – Only If You Want To
You are amazing just the way you are. But you also shouldn’t suffer if there are parts of you that you would like to change. After all, life is but a self-improving journey.
5. Ditch the Scale
Numbers are just that – numbers. They don’t say anything about you except how much you weigh, and we both know there’s so much more to a person than the amount of flesh. Don’t be a slave to the scale that determines how you feel about yourself. If you want to track your progress on your weight loss journey, focus on how much stronger you get or if you fit into clothes you couldn’t have before.
6. Do What You Love
Doing things you love means constantly improving and feeling proud of yourself. Whether that’s your job, or your hobbies, cooking, baking, writing a blog – focusing on your mental strengths will definitely make you more confident.
Building your self-esteem is not an easy task to do, but it is definitely achievable. You know what the good thing is? The more you work on it, the better it gets.
